Scapes.gr is a body of work that has developed over the past decade and more.  It is the result of journeys within the country of Greece and its capital city, Athens.  Drawn initially by the unique light of the land my attention soon went to exploring the horizon line.

The horizon, an integral part of landscape photography and art, is a feature that we are aware of even when it is absent.  For this series I took two places that the horizon is most and least evident, namely the sea and the city.  In each instance my view is mediated either by the vehicle or platform from which I observe the horizon or through elements of the landscape itself.

This is an ongoing series that is conceived for the ephemeral nature of photography on the web.  New images and views will constantly appear, as they have for me over the course of the past decade.
